Irene Silvino

Hello!

My name is Irene. I am an illustrator and surface pattern designer based in London.

I was born and grew up in Livorno, Tuscany, among the seagulls, fishermen and food markets of this lively Italian seaside town.

I started my career as a graphic designer and I now work as a freelance illustrator and surface pattern designer.

I live with my husband and my children in a nice and quiet suburb of London. Apart from drawing, I love cooking, reading, photography, walking and spending time in nature with my family.

When I think about my style I think about curvy shapes, lively colours and a general “jungly” feeling – I love to draw people, plants, flowers and little animals!

I am a member of the British Association of Illustrators (AOI) and of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).

I am the founder of Editartz (https://editartz.com), an online creative community of illustrators from around the world that regularly share their personal editorial, children's and, recently, pattern design work based on monthly prompts.

From October 2020 Editartz, in collaboration with One Planet Conservation Awareness, is running an art editorial project called "Planet Posters" - the 12 months' focus on the environment: https://www.editartz.com/projects/planet-posters

We believe art is an incredible tool, it can spread awareness and give people hope!

"It's nice to have your feet on the ground and dream big at the same time"
"E' bello avere i piedi per terra e allo stesso tempo sognare"
